Istanbul Turkey Attractions - When you are touring a new city, you may or may not have an agenda that you have prepared. It is said that the triangular peninsula of Old Istanbul is the place to go when you want to experience most of the oldest sites within the city.
There are many religious sites in Istanbul that you may want to visit, including a trip to a mosque. You will find that most mosques are open to the public during the day. It is not wise to visit a mosque midday on Fridays because this is when Muslims are required to worship. Men should avoid wearing shorts and women cannot bare arms and legs inside a mosque . Women also should not enter a mosque without first covering their head with a scarf. You must also remove shoes before entering.
